Assistant Coaches

Dana Tucker begins her second season as assistant coach for the Tritons in 2008. Tucker enjoyed a brilliant playing career at UCSD from 2000-03. She was a two-time All-American, a first-team All-WWPA selection and the 2003 Division II Player of the Year. Tucker holds several spots in the UCSD record book including the career record for ejections drawn (219) and the top two spots for single season ejections drawn (87 and 79, respectively). She is also second in both single season penalties drawn and career penalties drawn.

Tucker has spent the last three seasons as the head coach of the Mission Bay HS boys and girls water polo teams.

Jenna Murphy enters her first season as an assistant coach with the UC San Diego women's water polo program in 2010. For the past two years Murphy has coached water polo and swimming at her Alumni, Newport Harbor High School, where she assisted the girl's program to a CIF title in 2008.

Murphy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience of the game to UCSD. In her four seasons as a UCLA student-athlete, Murphy helped capture three-consecutive NCAA titles from 2005-2007. This includes the historic milestone for UCLA's 100th NCAA Championship title her senior year.

During her freshman year, she led the team in assists with 31 and came in second for the amount of steals with 41. Murphy continued to compete for the remaining three seasons, finishing with 23 goals, 40 assists and 60 steals. Highlights from her senior year included a four goal tally for against Pacific and earning All-Academic Team accolades for outstanding efforts in the classroom.

Prior to Murphy's collegiate career she was a standout high school water polo player for Newport Harbor High School in Newport Beach, CA under Coach Bill Barnett. During her high school years, Murphy was also named onto the National Youth Team in 2002 and 2003 and earned a trip to Australia to compete internationally.

Murphy graduated from UCLA with a degree in Sociology.
