Recruiting Opportunity

Attending clinics and camps is a great way to get noticed by the coaching staff and also to have a chance to see the campus and facilities. It is also a great opportunity to meet the coaches and team members. There will be a campus tour and an opportunity to experience the inside of the Triton program. There will be a 30 min Q & A about the recruiting process and discuss the options of being recruited to UCSD. Upon completion of camp, each camper will receive an evaluation by college coaches assessing the strengths and weaknesses of their play.

During her first season for the Triton’s, she assisted in team’s success of making it to the Championship game and placing 2nd in the WWPA Conference Tournament and finishing the season 18th in the national rankings.

Prior to coaching in San Diego, Murphy spent the previous two years coaching water polo and swimming at her Alumni, Newport Harbor High School, where she assisted the girl’s program to a CIF title in 2008.  While coaching at the high school level, she also was the 12 & under Girls Head Coach for Newport Water Polo Foundation and assisted with all other age groups.

Murphy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience of the game to UCSD. In her four seasons as a UCLA student-athlete, Murphy helped capture three-consecutive NCAA titles from 2005-2007. This includes the historic milestone for UCLA’s 100th NCAA Championship title her senior year.

During her freshman year, she led the team in assists with 31 and came in second for the amount of steals with 41. Murphy continued to compete for the remaining three seasons, finishing with 23 goals, 40 assists and 60 steals. During her high school years, Murphy was also named onto the National Youth Team in 2002 and 2003 and earned a trip to Australia to compete internationally.
